Organic peroxides is a derivative of hydrogen peroxide after one or two hydrogen atoms are replaced by organic groups. It can produce free radicals by Pyrolysis at relatively low temperatures. Therefore, it is usually used as a free radical donor in reaction and widely used as an initiator for monomer polymerization of polymer compounds, a cross-linking agent for polymer compounds, and a degradation agent. It is a key raw material for preparing polymer materials.

The main uses of room temperature peroxide products are mainly in three aspects according to different application mechanisms: first, they are used as initiators for monomer polymerization, such as synthetic polystyrene, ABS, polyacrylic acid and Styrene-butadiene; Second, it is used as cross-linking agent for reaction between polymer compounds, such as unsaturated polyester, Ethylene propylene rubber, silicone rubber and cross-linked polyethylene; Thirdly, it is used as a degradation agent for polymer compounds, such as polypropylene. In addition, it can also be applied in multiple fields such as medical devices and food disinfection.
