Organic peroxides is a kind of chemical substance with high specificity of chemical change. When chemical changes occur, Organic peroxides cause oxygen free radicals, because oxygen freedom basically has high organic chemical specificity, which will further cause condensation reaction or chemical cross-linking reaction.
In different main uses, Organic peroxides is also called differently
The entire process of oxygen radical aggregation is called aggregation initiator
In the application of chemical crosslinking of vulcanized rubber, it is called a coupling agent
In the application of polyurethane resin, it is called an epoxy curing agent
In polypropylene modified materials, it is called a degradation agent
Application of Organic peroxides in Polypropylene Degradation
Polypropylene raw materials
——Raw materials for manufacturing disposable medical Surgical mask
The general disposable medical Surgical mask is composed of three layers. The key raw materials for manufacturing the S layer (spunbonded layer) and M layer (melt blown layer) are all high melting polypropylene raw materials. The common way is to use controllable degradation method and Organic peroxides as the degradation agent to modify the material polypropylene to produce high melt index polypropylene raw material.
Organic peroxides
Production and manufacturing of high melt index polypropylene raw materials based on controllable degradation method
Controllable degradation method: the basic epoxy resin with low melting index is added with Organic peroxides in the extrusion granulation link, which degrades the biological macromolecular polypropylene into an open chain with small relative molecular weight, thus significantly improving the target of commercial melting index.
The polypropylene raw materials produced by this method have high flowability, and the relative molecular weight is getting smaller and narrower, which is beneficial for further production and processing solutions. Used in the polypropylene degradation management system
The Organic peroxides is selected according to the half life of the drug (the time when the half peroxide dissolves at the given temperature). The reaction temperature and waiting time in the whole process of fusion degradation are first selected as the degradation agent, which is a Organic peroxides with a temperature range between 177-185 in the half life of one minute drug.
If peroxides with a short half-life of drugs are selected, the dissolution rate of peroxides will be very fast in actual processing operations, which is not easy to cause degradation reactions in a very uniform manner, and can also lead to severe partial dissolution in polypropylene raw materials.
If Organic peroxides with too long half-life of drugs are selected, Organic peroxides will not be completely dissolved within the actual operation time and will remain in the final polypropylene epoxy resin products.
