2024 High-Performance Composite Material Molding Process Application Seminar Was Successfully Held in Huai'an, Jiangsu

The high-performance composite materials industry is in a period of vigorous development. The improvement of advanced manufacturing technology and processing equipment quality has promoted the continuous scale growth of demand. In response to the national strategic goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality", on August 2, the "2024 High-Performance Composite Materials Molding Process Application Seminar" with the theme of "Technology Empowers the Industrial Chain and Innovation Promotes Carbon Neutrality" was held in Huai'an.

This conference focuses on promoting the upgrading of composite material molding process technology and improving the quality and efficiency of production and manufacturing equipment. It invites nearly 300 industry experts, enterprises, universities, and research institutes in the fields of aerospace, automobiles, low-altitude economy, etc. to jointly discuss the research and development trends of new materials, new technologies, new equipment and new applications of high-performance composite material molding processes, empower corporate technological innovation, and provide strong support for accelerating the development of new quality productivity in the composite material industry.

Report title: "Current situation and development trend of composite materials industry at home and abroad"

In his report, Professor Chen Bo elaborated on the global composite materials production and growth trend. China still occupies and will continue to occupy the highest market share in the world, and predicts that the annual compound growth rate will be around 5-6% in the next five years. He made a forecast on China's composite materials production: According to the latest data from JEC, the total global composite materials market will be 13 million tons in 2023. Compared with 12.3 million tons in 2022, it has increased by about 5%. He said that photovoltaics, wind power, hydrogen energy, and new energy vehicles are the main engines driving the market at present; then briefly describe the market structure of advanced composite materials industry: finally analyze the development prospects of China's composite materials industry and share cases of new fields of molded composite materials application.

Mr. Zhang Hua mainly talked about the successful cases of Lidel resin materials in commercial vehicles and low-density solutions. At the same time, he described how to better control the resin and its raw materials, and the selection and control of SMC raw materials to explore how to make SMC materials play a more constructive role in commercial vehicles and even the composite materials industry. In addition, Leader commercial vehicle lightweight SMC is also introduced. SMCs of different densities have differences, mainly in four aspects: strength, cost, processability and appearance.
