Di-tert-butyl peroxide is widely used as a crosslinking agent for unsaturated polyester and silicone rubber, a polymerization initiator for monomers, a polypropylene modifier, and a rubber vulcanizing agent. Below is a brief introduction to the production process of di-tert-butyl peroxide:
1) Acid matching
Firstly, add tap water to the acid mixing kettle, and at the same time, start the stirring and circulating water of the acid mixing kettle; Sulfuric acid is pumped from the tank farm to the sulfuric acid intermediate tank, and then pumped to the acid mixing tank, configured as 76% dilute sulfuric acid for backup.
2) Alkali blending
First, add tap water to the alkali mixing kettle. Liquid alkali is pumped from the tank farm to the intermediate tank of liquid alkali, and then pumped to the alkali distribution tank, configured as 10% liquid alkali for backup.
3) Material preparation
(1) Pump tert butanol from the tank farm to the tert butanol weighing tank;
(2) Hydrogen peroxide is pumped from the tank farm to the hydrogen peroxide weighing tank, and then placed in the hydrogen peroxide high-level tank for backup;
(3) Dilute alkali is discharged from the alkali preparation kettle to the high-level tank for backup;
(4) Dilute sulfuric acid is discharged from the acid mixing kettle to the sulfuric acid high-level tank for backup.
4) Peroxide reaction
(1) First weigh tert butanol and place it in the reaction kettle. Control the discharge regulating valve of the sulfuric acid high-level tank, add dilute sulfuric acid dropwise to the reaction kettle, turn on the circulating water to control the temperature ≤ 30 ℃, and stir for 30 minutes for reaction;
(2) Control the discharge regulating valve of the hydrogen peroxide high-level tank, add hydrogen peroxide dropwise to the reaction kettle, turn on the circulating water cooling control temperature to ≤ 45 ℃, and wait until the dropwise addition is completed. Turn on the circulating hot water again, gradually raise the temperature to 60 ℃, and stir for 2.5 hours;
(3) Stop stirring in the reaction kettle and let it stand for 0.5 hours. The lower layer of dilute sulfuric acid is pumped through a dilute acid pump to a 40% sulfuric acid tank in the tank farm, and the upper layer is the crude product of di-tert-butyl peroxide;
(4) Control the discharge regulating valve of the liquid alkali high-level tank, place the liquid alkali in the reaction kettle, stir and wash for 0.5 hours, let it stand for 0.5 hours, and layer by layer.
