Dicumyl peroxide is a white crystal.Its CAS number is 80-43-3.It is a strong oxidizer.It is stable at room temperature and gradually turns slightly yellow when exposed to light. Above 100 ℃, it will form polymer compounds. It reacts violently when encountering sulfur and Perchloric acid, burns slowly when encountering fire, and is insensitive to vibration and friction.
Dicumyl peroxide is also known as DCP.It can be used as an initiator for monomer polymerization, as a vulcanizing agent, crosslinking agent, curing agent, flame retardant additive, etc. for polymer materials.

Application
Dicumyl peroxide is used as a vulcanizing agent and crosslinking agent for natural rubber, synthetic rubber, and polyethylene resin. It is used as cross-linking foam material of EVA, vulcanization of rubber and curing crosslinking agent of unsaturated polyester. It is also used as a crosslinking agent for Nitrile rubber, Neoprene and polystyrene to improve heat resistance and aging resistance.

Storage
DCP should be stored in a dedicated warehouse which must be cool, dry, and well ventilated. The temperature of the warehouse should be below 30℃. It should be kept away from high temperatures and open flames, and avoid direct sunlight. Do not come into contact with reducing agents, acids, alkalis, and heavy metal compounds. When loading and unloading, it is important to load and unload lightly.
